How it works

Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate is a Nucleotide Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitor (NtRTI). After it is converted into its active form inside the body, it blocks the reverse transcriptase enzyme, which HIV needs to replicate. In hepatitis B infection, it also inhibits the HBV DNA polymerase enzyme, preventing the virus from multiplying.

By reducing viral replication, Tenof:

• Lowers HIV viral load.
• Helps increase and maintain CD4 cell counts.
• Slows the progression of HIV infection.
• Suppresses hepatitis B virus replication and supports liver health.

Dosage

Note

Tenof Tablet helps control HIV-1 and chronic hepatitis B but does not cure either infection. Taking the medicine consistently as prescribed and attending regular medical check-ups are essential for effective long-term treatment.
