How it works

Estiva 600 Tablet contains Efavirenz 600 mg, which belongs to a class of medicines called Non-Nucleoside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitors (NNRTIs).

Efavirenz works by blocking the reverse transcriptase enzyme, which HIV needs to convert its RNA into DNA and multiply inside human immune cells. By inhibiting this enzyme, Estiva prevents the virus from replicating, helping to reduce the amount of HIV (viral load) in the body.

Dosage

One tablet (600 mg) once daily, or as prescribed by your healthcare provider.

It is generally recommended to take the tablet on an empty stomach, preferably at bedtime, to help reduce nervous system side effects such as dizziness or vivid dreams.

Swallow the tablet whole with water.

Do not miss doses or stop treatment without medical advice.

Note

Estiva 600 Tablet helps control HIV infection but does not cure HIV. It should always be used in combination with other antiretroviral medicines and taken exactly as prescribed by a healthcare professional.
